Country singer Bryan Andrews is making headlines after posting a series of passionate social media videos condemning recent immigration raids and the Christians who, in his view, defend them. His raw words, filled with both conviction and emotion, have resonated with many while sparking backlash from others.

Andrews, who has built a strong following online with more than 500,000 Instagram fans, unleashed what he called a “crash out” while promoting his new single, The Older I Get. Instead of sticking to music, he focused directly on President Donald Trump’s immigration policies and the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“You don’t get to call yourself a Christian and then advocate and laugh when families are torn apart outside of courthouses, when people are trying to come here the right ways,” Andrews said in one viral clip. “You are not Christian. You use Christianity as a shield to hide behind when you need to justify the hate that you have scolded into this world.”

Andrews’ frustration came on the heels of several controversial incidents involving ICE. Earlier this month, reports surfaced that children were pulled from a Chicago apartment during a night raid, some without clothes. The outrage intensified after the Supreme Court cleared the way for an ICE office in Los Angeles to continue racial profiling.

How do we get to the point where the highest court in the land is giving ICE a green light to target people because they’re brown or speaking Spanish?” Andrews asked his followers. “Have we really become this numb to treating human beings like this?”

His words were especially pointed toward Christians who publicly support the administration’s immigration agenda. “It makes me sick to be lumped in with MAGA Christians who call this faith. That’s not Jesus,” he said.

The videos quickly racked up views and comments, drawing both praise and criticism. Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo joined those applauding Andrews, calling his message a powerful rebuke: “You crushed the lies of this administration and the Anti-Christian movement that supports it.”

Fans also expressed support. “I don’t even like country music, but I will be listening to you on the regular now,” one person wrote. Another added, “You may have lost some followers with this post, but you just gained a whole lot more.

Not everyone was impressed. Some critics accused Andrews of ignoring immigration law. “Except they didn’t come here the right way. And heaven has gates,” one commenter fired back.

Andrews now finds himself in a growing line of artists, including Zach Bryan, who are using their platforms to address moral and political issues. For him, the debate is not just about immigration—it’s about the witness of the Church. For Christians, the question his fiery words raise is unavoidable: how do we balance faith with politics, compassion with law, and national security with the biblical call to love the stranger? Andrews’ critics may disagree with his delivery, but his message has reopened a conversation that remains deeply relevant to the American Church.
